Home care

Co-therapy oral hygiene instructions.

Waterpik-first home-care guidance for irrigation, flossing, remineralizing support, and healthier gums.

Daily home care

Start with Waterpik irrigation.

Follow the order below and use the timing, products, and techniques recommended for your individual needs.

02

Flossing

Wrap approximately a 24-inch piece of floss around your left middle finger, leaving about 6 inches free for the right middle finger. Curve the floss as it passes through the contact point so it can reach the root surface below the gum line. Continue down the root surface until you feel the bottom of the pocket. Your hygienist will recommend the floss type and frequency that best fit your needs; a minimum of once daily is recommended for periodontal and cavity prevention.

03

Super Floss and Floss Threaders

These specialized floss aids are used for thorough cleaning and plaque removal under bridges and in large spaces between teeth. They can also be used under orthodontic appliances and wires.

04

Vitamin Therapy

If you are under the care of a physician, please consult your doctor before taking any supplements. Vitamin C with bioflavonoids and a vitamin B complex may be recommended based on individual needs. Please consult your physician if you have a history of stomach ulcers.

05

Desensitizing and Remineralizing Toothpaste

For desensitizing and remineralizing, we recommend products containing calcium hydroxide or hydroxyapatite. Apply products according to the directions from your hygienist or doctor; no specific brand is required.

06

Toothpaste and Mouth Rinses

Use toothpaste and mouth rinses as recommended by your hygienist and/or doctor.

07

Periodontal Aide

Use a periodontal aide for thorough plaque removal as demonstrated by your hygienist. It is especially useful for bifurcated root areas.

Success with conservative periodontal therapy depends on following the recommended home-care plan and the time guidance provided by your hygiene team.
